Canadian superstar LØLØ made her headline debut with a sold-out Glasgow show.

With a collection of big support and festival slots under her belt, Canadian rising star LØLØ has made her headline tour debut in the UK and Europe, celebrating the release of her debut album, falling for robots & wishing I was one.

Quickly building her name, LØLØ has risen her way up to be one of the most exciting names in music right now, reaching new heights and hitting the road with big names like Leah Kate, Against the Current & Boys Like Girls as well as on-stage appearances with her heroes, Simple Plan.

The overwhelming response to her debut album has shown the sheer distance that her fan base stretches from her home nation of Canada right over to the UK and Europe.

Announcing her first ever headline tour back in July, the tickets quickly flew out the door and even saw venues require upgrades in the early days.

On October 23rd, LØLØ brought the party to a sold-out night at Glasgow’s Classic Grand, a historic cinema-turned venue in the city centre.

Kicking off the night was the sole support act, GUS, a fellow Canadian musician and close friend of LØLØ’s. Full of energy as he took to the stage, his fans at the front welcomed him with excited screams.

The set was a solid mix of old and new, showing the crowd a wide array of what he has to offer including a cover of Sabrina Carpenter’s Taste, which got the whole room involved in a sing-a-long. GUS then performed his new song, No More Freedom which, with its release just around the corner, was received well by the enlivened crowd.

Throwing in a little taster of his older music stretching back to 2018, GUS then rounded off his set with the track Stoned, taken from his 2022 EP, The Humid Summer. His first time in Scotland, GUS made sure to tell the crowd about his love for the country before leaving the stage, even stating that he has a little Scottish in his family line.

With boundless energy and an infectious happiness so clear during his performance, GUS has a talent for brightening up his live audiences, with a name that will hopefully be seen back in Glasgow soon.

With the stage set for the night’s headliner - featuring an iconic yellow brick road floor and a robot placed in front of the giant LØLØ backdrop - the theme tune to The Wizard of Oz rang out as the band entered the stage one by one.

Skipping her way on stage came LØLØ, who kicked straight into OMG, a song that gave off instant good vibes of how the set would go with high energy both on and off the stage and fans screaming back every lyric from the get-go.

A stacked set with lots of material to go through, LØLØ highlighted a big chunk of her debut album, Gloria. The emotional, I would fix u if I could also made the cut alongside the fan-favourite singles, 2 of us and you turn me on, which certainly got the crowd going.

Next, the classic single, Debbie Downer received one of the biggest reactions of the night. As a staple in her live set since it was released, it’s a song that will always go off in any setting, and bringing a fan on stage brought that extra special sense of connection into the show.

The set told its own story, with each song written about a certain point in the artists life, whether happy or sad. On stage, the love between LØLØ and her fans was plain to see, always making her live performances that extra bit special: a love for what she does and the bonds of personal connections to her lyrics shone brightly throughout the room.

The upbeat Junkie and faceplant were then thrown in mid-set to keep the crowd going, and with the new album only being a few months old, it was great to see the brand new song, Don’t make its way into the set, which the crowd picked up quickly and sung word for word.

Finally, LØLØ closed off in style with the beautiful snow in Berlin before seeing things out with hot girls in hell, dedicating the song to that one person we all know who will certainly end up down there. A sea of middle fingers were raised across the room as the crowd aimed each one to exactly who they were singing about.

More deafening cheers filled the room as LØLØ and her band bowed off for the night, posing with her t-shirt that said: “I love Scotland so much I put it into a song.

After an electric sold-out headline debut in Glasgow, the sky is certainly the limit for LØLØ and bigger venues better brace themselves for what’s on the way.

With an upcoming US headline tour from February-March of next year, we’d recommend following LØLØ on Instagram to stay updated with her future performances. As always, you can find the rest of her discography on Spotify:
